Music Video: Architecture in Helsinki - Heart it Races

More than two years after their well-renowned release In Case We Die, Architecture in Helsinki is preparing for their third full-length, Places Like This, dropping in early August, under Polyvinyl Records. While doing so, they made a little music video, promoting its first single, “Heart it Races.” Right off the bat, one can agree that the band has veered a tad off-course compared to their earlier work; instead of creating texture with bells and other cutesy, jangly, “twee-pop” instrumentation, there seems to be more of a focus on the beat, with the help of tribal-inspired drums and percussion. This isn’t a bad thing, however. Oh yeah, and the video? It is clever and amusing, especially towards the end with the black light, which reassures us AIH fans that they haven’t abandoned their cute factor. I wouldn’t want to ruin it for anyone, though, so see it for yourself.
