The band teamed together with producer Dave Fridmann (flaming lips, mogwai) for Some Loud Thunder. The album opens with a boomy distortion-heavy intro which almost sounds like they wanted to break your stereo. If the listener can get past track 1, the rest of the album is rather accessible. It may even recruit new fans who brushed them off as being too repetitive or droning after their first release. In my opinion the album is good but I have yet to find their next “Home on Ice”, I can only hope the album will grow on me.
